Abstract
(uk) У статті аналізується конкретний внесок визначного українського історика та громадсько-політичного діяча ХІХ ст. Миколи Івановича Костомарова у розробку ідеї соборності. Автор розглядає погляди вченого на єдність українського народу, розділеного імперськими кордонами. Також аналізуються відмінності слов’янофільської та української ідей соборності.
(ru) В статье анализируется конкретный вклад известного украинского историка и общественно-политического деятеля ХІХ в. Николая Ивановича Костомарова в разработку идеи соборности. Автор рассматривает взгляды ученого на единство украинского народа, разделенного имперскими границами. Также анализируются отличия славянофильской и украинской идей соборности.
(en) The purpose of the article is to determine the contribution of M. Kostomarov to the idea of the unity of the nation. The genesis of the unity views has been observed since childhood. The interest in Ukrainian is increasing at the end of his university studies. Among the poems one particularly reflects the idea of the unity of the Ukrainian lands –“My Song”. The scientist operates with the concepts of “spiritual unity”, “Slavic reciprocity”, “the rule of nation”. The historian saw in the Orthodox faith the factor of unity of Rus. It was obvious to him that the identity of the language testifies to the identity of the people. M. Kostomarov defined a number of features that distinguish one nation from another. At the same time, these are the factors of unification, and, consequently, of collegiality. The views of the historian on unity developed under the influence of romantic ideas and thorough research of history, language, folklore, religion of the Ukrainian people. Typologically, they are similar to the understanding of the collegiality of Russian Slavophiles, but without the Russian nobility Pan-Slavism. In many of his writings, M. Kostomarov consistently defended the idea of the organic unity of Ukrainians, first of all as “spiritual unity”, about the need for free development of the Ukrainian language and culture as a whole.
