Рідна мова як засіб формування патріотизму молодших школярів

(en) Native language in the creative heritage of V. O. Sukhomlynsky is defined as one of the effective means of patriotic education of junior pupils. It is the native language that is an indicator of belonging to the Ukrainian people as a bearer of its traditions and culture. The modern system of education, continuing the tradition, initiated by a renowned teacher, ensures mastery of elementary school students in Ukrainian as a state language, as a means of communication, knowledge of the world, and the formation of a personality. In the process of studying the native language, pupils are attracted to the treasury of the spiritual culture of the Ukrainian people. They are aware of its national traits, assimilate its values and traditions. The language allows us to identify ourselves as a Ukrainian. The sensitive period of assimilation of the sound structure of the native language, its lexical wealth, the traditions of the grammatical structure, the culture of communication takes place in junior school age. The leading role in the formation of the linguistic identity of the junior pupil has oral folk art, in particular, small folk genres, which reflect the culture of the Ukrainian people, national peculiarities of worldview and thinking. V. O. Sukhomlynsky attached particular importance to the folk tales, because written language contributes to the assimilation of the beauty of the national language, the philosophy and wisdom of his people, and at the same time serves as one of the means of patriotic education. The development of pupils' speaking art is an effective form of mastering the native language and forming an understanding of its beauty and wealth. V. O. Sukhomlynsky formed in his pupils the ability to independently make tales, small narrative narratives, and poems. Perfect language proficiency becomes possible only in the appropriate linguistic environment created by the close environment, family, educational institutions. During the lessons of Ukrainian language and Literary reading, in the extra-curricular time the teacher must bring up a positive motivation to study the language, make for pupils emotional excitement in the process of communicating in their native language, contribute to the formation of a sense of pride and love for the native word.
