Abstract
(ru) В статье предлагается этимологический анализ группы топонимов, обозначавших различные географические объекты на территории исторической Словакии. Структура этих лексем не поддается объяснению в рамках славянского или венгерского языков, но находит близкие аналоги в иранском материале, что дает основания считать их следами сармато-аланского присутствия в ареале архаичной славянской (словацкой) топонимии. Полученные предварительные результаты позволяют реконструировать ряд сармато-аланских топонимов.
(en) The paper deals with the etymological analysis of a group of toponyms on the territory of the historical Slovakia. The structure of these words can not be explained within the framework of Slavonic or Hungarian vocabulary. On the contrary, it corresponds to some lexemes of Iranian vocabulary. This fact enables us to suppose that these toponyms may represent certain traces of Sarmatian-Alan presence in the archaic Slavonic (Slovac) area. According to the preliminary results of the etymological analysis, it is possible to surmise that some of the analyzed lexemes were used as geographical terms, cf.: *maz-ab (*mazab(a)yā ?) ʻbig riverʼ, *tur-don ʻfast river ʼ (~ Slav. *bystrica), *varalya ‘rain flow’, *sāk[a]-nāv или *sāk[a]-nav ʻdeer gutterʼ or ‘gutter in deerʼs narrowʼ, *bur-bara ‘bubbling, surging torrent’, *bag-nad[i] ʻsurging water, torrentʼ. Several toponyms agree in structure with Iranian compounds with such second elements as *kata-/*kanta-, *ṷara- ʻsettlementʼ, ʻfortressʼ. Some derivatives under consideration demonstrate unique parallels to the vocabularies of Iranian languages of the Pamir area or bear certain similarities to phonetic features of Ossetian words.
